Rangers of the North
Occum is a small village on the Forven Iaur, about half way between Fornost Erain and Bree. Having been a popular respite for travel on the Greenway for ages past, Occum has survived the passing of time and the many wars it brought with it.
Dominated by a large, stone-work inn just outside the village proper, the majority of the rest of town has long since given up and faded.
The only people left are almost ghost-like, tragic figures who have refused to accept that the town is dying (or dead), and move on, or away. One of these is Bregol, the Thegn, who according to legend has been Thegn since the Great Plague, almost fourteen hundred years ago. With him are a troupe of equally ghoul-like retainers, and together they keep a kind of court of law in the withered town hall, capturing and prosecuting travellers and accusing them of some crime or other.
