Rangers of the North
There are countless ruins scattered throughout the Midgewater Marshes, most of whose histories are lost for ever. Deep within the fog lies a battered old keep that up until recently housed a dark sorcerer poisoning the Marshes with unholy magics for whatever nefarious purpose. Aided by a cadre of Ghouls, the sorcerer still met his ends at the hands of a group of Rangers (although some of the stories told around Bree-land claim a band of smugglers from the Chetwood did the deed), freeing Migdewater Marshes from the fould sorcery that had infested it.
Left is the scorched-out ruins and the charred remains of bodies, both of Ghouls and the remains of unfortunate passers-by who met their fates in the moss-covered, ramshackle stone remnants.
The ruins have a damp, underground sublevel, a main hall which is mostly collapsed, and a small tower. Any loot there might have been has evidently been pilfered by the Rangers of brigands who put an end to the threat.
